Uncovering Actionable Sales Insights
This is an early research project I led at Microsoft on a small team to compile sources and turn them into actionable insights for a digital product.

Context & Research Goals
The feedback that had been collected had come from a variety of sources and come through many methods including 1:1 interviews, workshops, and surveys. My task was to add rigor and reduce bias to the feedback synthesis.
Methods
Given the disparate feedback sources, my collaborators and I decided to perform a thematic analysis with exploratory data analysis to easily see theme frequency and affinity mapping to generate potential insights.
Crucial Insights
Through the analyses and iterative ideation I ranked insights. I presented our top 8 insights to leadership, identifying potential ways to put them into action.
Impact
The research led to the adoption of 10 "quick wins" or relatively low effort actions to take based off of our insights. I collaborated with designers to implement the changes and led to an increase in usage.
Key Learnings
This project required me to hit the ground running with only a few days to understand a complex product. If I were to do it again, I would have used that time to brainstorm with collaborators and get up to speed in a more collaborative way.
I used Excel to standardize feedback and make it easy to search or filter.
I used R to allow for easy data visualization and exploratory data analysis across industries.
During the insight presentation, next steps were presented on how we could quickly take action on the insights.
Through Affinity Mapping I was able to take the large number of themes identified and condense them down to something actionable.
We used FigJam in our working sessions to develop ideas and organize our understanding.
